First Pday in the mish!
First Pday in the mish! It was so relaxing. Just chilled all day. We even went on a run and I saw the Choele Choel sign. :) For sure taking a pic in front of it! Also saw another part of the town and we are going to plan a morning to just contact there. Had our first district meeting and I was apparently supposed to have an interview with the president. He never called so we ended up studying in our apartments forever. I love studying!
This week Elder Wood has really pushed me to start talking to a lot of people. Because I have to practice my Spanish if I want to improve it. My favorite part of every lesson is when we sing songs to the people we’re teaching. My favorite hymn to sing is Mas Cerca Dios a ti (nearer my god, to thee)
Teresa, Rocio, and Gustavo keep progressing! It is so awesome! They are such studs. We are just becoming friends with so many people in this town I love it! We also started teaching Melanie she felt the spirit so strong in the first lesson it was awesome! Then every night we have started to drink Mate and we have made 2 cakes already. Mission food is good food lol.
I worked on my small talk this week cause it wasn’t that good in English so it is a Llttle rough in Spanish lol. We also got two super cool member references. And one of the members made us some drink that is like a fake coffee lol. Not sure what it is called. We also had a baptismal service for a kid in the branch. The spirit was so strong! We also watched the video “Thanks to Him”. If you have not watched it, I highly recommend it and felt the spirit during that. Afterwards, we got to eat all the dessert that members brought. I stuffed myself! After the baptism we went to a couple houses with Franco, a 17 year old member who plans to serve a misión, he is a stud!
Then Sunday! Rocio, Gustavo and Teresa came to church! I was so excited! It was fast and testimony meeting and all the new missionaries in the área are supposed to bear their testimony. So, I went up and bore my testimony. Apparently my Spanish is pretty good for only being in the field for two weeks. I went to my first official Elder’s Quorum! I don’t think the CCM really counts as Elder’s, lol. I could not understand much, but it’s all good. I also learned a super cool handshake with all the kids, it is called Choco’la’te. The Elder’s from Lamarque couldn’t get a taxi back until 4:30, so they chilled at our place and we just told stories and had our weekly planning sesión. Elder Wood and I made some goals that are gonna forcé us to work like crazy. I’m hyped! Love the work!
Spiritual Thought: The spiritual thought for this week comes from an EFY song. Look around, because you are surrounded by wonderful people no matter where you go! You just have to see the best in them because everyone is a child of god.
